Stolen Identity 2013

Posted on: December 19th, 2012 by Erik Williams

For 4 Wednesday nights this coming
January we will be having a seriesicon
called Stolen Identity, 7-8:30pm
in the Fellowship Center.

Each Wednesday we will be digging deep into who God has made men & women to be AND take a look at how the Enemy and our culture both strive to steal away from us the identity that Jesus Christ has purchased for those who follow Him.

For the last of the 4 nights, guys & girls will meet separately to go deeper into issues & areas unique to men &women.

GUYS  Guys will examine the pervasive problem of lust, mainly in the area of pornography. The average guy today is first exposed to pornography when he’s 9 years old. We want to help train, equip & encourage our young men to face this battle and to grow up to be men of God who say NO to this ever growing part of our culture. (for junior high & high school guys)

GIRLS  Girls will examine bluntly the difference between what it means to be truly beautiful vs. being sensual. We’ll examine
what a woman of character is. Our culture constantly sends our girls destructive messages on what beauty, love & what their self-image should be. We want to train, equip & encourage our young ladies to not live like this world says to. (for junior high & high school girls)

Corporately, our emphasis will be on championing our identity as sons & daughters of King Jesus. As His kids, we’ll break down how we should be carrying ourselves in the area of sexuality, dating, (even texting!), & friendship.

PARENTS: If you have questions, comments regarding our subject matter or delivery, please email me here. Note: If you are concerned that you’re 6th or 7th grader is too young to participate, please contact me!

See you in January!

Moms and Dads, please take a moment and read these lyrics from a band that is HUGELY popular with teenage girls right now:

Shut the door, turn the light off

I wanna be with you

I wanna feel your love

I wanna lay beside you

I cannot hide this even though I try

Heart beats harder

Time escapes me

May’s Mob night is turning the
channel to a very necessary and
serious topic, homosexuality.

May 2nd, from 7-8:30pm in the
FellowshipCenter, all 6th grade
through college-age
students are
welcome to join us for this powerful
night. (parents welcome as well)

The reality is, in our culture, homosexuality is here to stay… becoming more mainstream every day.

The other sad reality is that most Christians aren’t prepared to respond in a truthful and compassionate manner.

On this night, students will be challenged with (more…)

Here’s recent email Jourdan, our Ministry Coordinator, sent out to our leaders.
If you read it from a parent’s perspective, it’s equally valuable. Enjoy!

Hey CruxGroup Leaders!

As I was reading the Bible this morning, my plan had me on Galatians 6. While I was reading – all of you came to mind so I wanted to send out some encouragement for your area of service in CrosslineYouth.

Gal 6:1-2 “Brothers, if someone is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual should restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so you also won’t be tempted. Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

We’ve all seen our students, at some point in time, struggle with sin. This verse encouraged me and taught me to be GENTLE as I try to help restore them. Sometimes I can get so (more…)
