Guest post from youth leader, Leslie Williams:High School Student Raising Hand in Class

On Sunday, my husband, Erik, asked why someone might write something down. Someone responded “to get the right answers.”

Ahhh, as a teacher, I’m so sorry that you have all been trained to just get the right answers without actually believing them!

That’s what you do every single day in high school. Boo!

Here is a definition you will not want to forget: “Belief is being ready to act as though it were true.”

You might wonder why the way you live your life during the week is very different from (more…)

Parents,

thumbnail-1You are the most significant spiritual guide for your child.

The things you teach and the example you set for them is a huge factor in faith they pursue…or not.

Here at CrosslineYouth, our role is to assist you in your holy task of spiritually training and guiding your child.

During February, we are setting aside our Wednesday night program to focus on faith, and not just our own.

Our friends from Stand to Reason will be speaking and guiding our students on 4 key faith angles: (more…)

CruxGroups: Christmas Soiree 2012

Hey CrosslineYouth!

CruxGroups is bringing you our CHRISTMAS SOIREE on Wednesday, December 5th 7-8:30pm.

As we close out Thanksgiving and turn a corner of what to really be Thankful for, its time to reflect on what Christ has been sent out to do for us during the month of December.  As we celebrate His birth to ultimately pay for our sins on the cross, we are gathering together as a large group to reflect on that truth.

With that said, we will be doing a Baking Contest!

—-> Here is the catch – EACH CruxGroup MUST have at least 1 entry. (You can definitely do more than 1 if you want)

Santa Grant will be the judge of the best, most original and tastiest bite.  If YOUR group wins, dinner will be on us that next week!  Holla.

Not only are we doing a baking contest, but we will be worshipping our Savior with Reveal and will be hearing a story about Gods work and mercy in a special guests life.

See you all there – its going to be a special night.

“God Has Changed Me Through His Church…”

Posted on: August 21st, 2012 by Erik Williams

Guest-post from senior, Rachael:

I remember when my parents told me that our family was moving – again. I thought of all my friends, those I had had for years and those who were new.

I thought of having to start at a new school in the middle of High School, and adjusting to a slightly different culture here in Southern California.

But mostly, I was grieved over the fact that I would have to leave my church.

I belonged to a church that I had attended since 3rd grade, and my heart was deeply rooted there.

I was comfortable, but wasn’t actively participating in the body.

So, we moved.

It was important to both of my parents for me to be in a church, so once we arrived the search began. I was in and out of multiple churches, settled on one, and then decided it wasn’t for me.

For a few months, I rarely attended church. On a short visit back to my home state, my old pastor urged me to find a church. I came home and began the search again. I tried too many to even remember, but one day we drove past Crossline Community Church.

Desperate to try anything, I showed up the next Sunday. And I haven’t left since.

I’m usually a pretty reserved person, scared to jump in too quickly. So it surprised some when I signed up to be in a small group. The group has been an immense blessing to me. God gave me a group of wonderful girls, all of them running after Jesus, and three leaders who push us to chase God more and more.

Because of God’s great grace, and with the help of my group, I finally saw Jesus for who He truly is, and not what I had created Him in my mind to be. Through our small group, I have built (more…)
